What We Believe

The Scriptures

We believe Both the Old and New Testament are inspired of God and are revelation of God to man, the infallible authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

2Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21

One True God

We believe in one true God who has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent “I AM,” the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. Revealed in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 6:4, Luke 3:22, Matthew 28:19v

Who Is Jesus

We believe that Jesus left his place in heaven to come to earth as a human, that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. We believe that Jesus was fully God and fully man, that He was tempted like us in every way, and yet lived a life without sin. We believe that His nature and His perfection made Him an acceptable substitute for the penalty of our sin.

Philippians 2:5-11, Luke 1:26-35, 2 Corinthians 5:21, John 1:1-5

Sin and the Fall of Man

We believe Man was created good and upright; for God said, “Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness.” However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.

Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 5:12-19

The Salvation of Man

We believe man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. That through Jesus’ death and resurrection every person can have a restored relationship with God both here on earth and for eternity.

Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe all believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service as described in the new testament.

 Matthew 3:11, Acts 1:4-8, Acts 2:1-4

Water Baptism

We believe that Water Baptism is an outward expression of the inner transformation that God has done in our lives when we’ve committed to follow him. It’s a sign that we belong to him and a reminder of what Jesus has done for us: He died on the cross and rose from the grave so that we could die to sin and be made alive to God (Rom. 6:11). When we are lowered into the water, we remember His sacrificial death. When we are raised out of the water, we remember His victorious resurrection. Jesus calls those who believe this good news to receive baptism as the sign they belong to Him (Matt. 28:19). If you have accepted the message and surrendered your life to Christ, the Bible says that  Baptism is the next step! (Acts 2:38-40)

Divine Healing

We believe divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all who come to Him.

Isaiah 53:4,5, Matthew 8:16,17, James 5:14-16

Eternity

We believe that those who reject Jesus and who put their trust in anything else, will spend eternity separated from God in Hell.  However, we believe that those who put their trust in what Jesus did by His death and resurrection from the dead will spend eternity with God.

Revelation 20:10-15, 21:1-4

Marriage and Human Sexuality

Marriage

We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God (Matthew 19:4-6).

Human Sexuality

Sexuality and the divinely prescribed boundaries for the expression thereof is covered clearly in the Holy Scriptures, which limit sexual expression to the marital relationship of one (1) man with one (1) woman.  See 1 Corinthians 6:18; 1 Thes. 4:3; Rom. 1:26-27; Prov. 5:3-5, 8-13; 7:21-27; Gal. 5:19; Exodus 20:14; Deut. 5:18; Matt. 5:27; 19:18; Luke 18:20; Rom. 13:9; James 2:11; Lev. 20:10-21; 1 Corinthians 10:8; and 6:18; Jude 7.

We also believe that sexuality is assigned by God at birth, whatever that may be, and the Holy Scripture does not permit an individual to alter their sexual identity physically or otherwise. See Deut. 23:1.
